What is Facebook marketplace

Facebook marketplace is an online store created by Facebook.  Marketplace is a feature in Facebook that allows users to buy and sell products and services. The feature is free to use lie most other Facebook feature.  You can upload any item online for sale and you will get a customer ready to buy it.

Initially, buying and selling are done in a special group called buying and selling group until Marketplace was released in 2016. Now marketplace competes with the likes of Etsy, eBay and Amazon. Considering the number of people using Facebook, Facebook Marketplace could be one of the leading online stores in the nearest future to come.

How can I find Facebook marketplace?

The Facebook marketplace can be found in the left sidebar of the Facebook page when you log in on a pc. When you click on the store icon it opens  Facebook marketplace

On mobile devices, you can locate Facebook marketplace by tapping on the store icon at the bottom of the iOS version of the Facebook app and the top of the android version of the Facebook app.

 

HOW FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE WORKS

Selling on Facebook marketplace

Selling on Facebook marketplace is quite easy. You can sell almost anything that could be sold in a normal store. Here is how you can sell on Marketplace

  1.  Click on “sell something”
  2. In the next page click on “item for sale”
  3. Enter the details of the item you want to sell.
  4. Upload photos of the item you want to sell
  5. Finally, click on “post”
  6. Your item will be listed on Facebook Marketplace.

Buying on Facebook Marketplace

Buying on Facebook marketplace works like every other online store. All you have to do is to look for things you may like to buy.  When you find the item, contact the seller and negotiate on a price and mode of payment.

Note: payment are not done on Marketplace, you and the seller will decide on the payment method.
