WHAT IS FACEBOOK MESSENGER?

Facebook Messenger is an instant messaging app developed by Facebook. The app serves as an alternative to Facebook in-app messaging service.  

Facebook messenger was originally called Facebook chat, it was changed to Facebook Messenger in 2011.  Now Facebook messenger has a dedicated website for its instant messaging service. So users can choose to download the standalone app or use the web version of the app. in April 2020, Facebook released a standalone app for its desktop version which is available on macOS and Windows 10.

Users on messenger can send messages emojis, photos and lot more to their Facebook friends. The standalone apps allow users to watch Facebook stories, play games and it supports an optional end to end encryption.

There are a lot of features in Facebook messenger however to enjoy Facebook Messenger you will need to sign up for Facebook. Here are some of the features in messenger

Send instant text photo and videos to Facebook friends:  Facebook messenger was originally developed for sending instant messages. Users can send one on one or group messages, photos or videos to any of their Facebook friends. They can also spice up their messages with in-built emojis, stickers and gifs.

Users can also send messages in the form of  voice notes to anyone on Facebook Messenger

Facebook messengers also allow users to delete messages for everyone before anyone could see the message. In some phones, the Messenger can be used to replace the inbuilt messaging app.

Make video or audio call:  Messenger allows users to make one on one or group video or audio calls. users can make calls in-app or over the internet for free. All you need is a wifi connection or an internet subscription.

Play games: Messenger allows users to play their favourite games online. Users can play games alone or invite others to join him/her while playing the game. No other download whatsoever is needed to play a game on Facebook Messenger.

Watch Facebook stories: users can watch other stories shared by his/her Facebook friends on messengers. Users can also react to stories just like on Facebook

Share location: users can send their current location to any of their Facebook friends. With the mobile app, the recipient can trace your location for more than 30 minutes.

Other Messenger features: Messenger allows users to easily contact businesses. under the discover section, you will see the number of businesses who are ready to reply to any queries within a short period

Users can switch the Messenger's interface to a dark mode which is quite good for the eyes. Also, users can go invisible by turning their active status off so that people will not see them online.
