Facebook is a social networking company founded by Mark Zuckerberg. Facebook allows users to chat with their loved ones, share photos and media, make and like posts, broadcast live program a lot more.

Posts by users can be made public or limited to certain persons, group or made private. Users can create pages, groups where he/she can chat and meet people with like minds.

Facebook was launched in 2004. It was originally designed for Havard students before it was gradually expanded to different cities. Currently, Facebook is being used worldwide except in places where it is being blocked. Facebook is one of the social networking sites with about 2.5 monthly active users.

Facebook was originally designed with adults in mind until it allowed people who are 13 years and above to use its platform. Now a lot of people use it for several reasons lie making calls, business, advertisement, and many more.

Facebook is very popular due to most of the interesting features it has. There are quite a lot of them but in this article, we will be looking at some of the popular ones.

  • Facebook allows users to have friend lists: there are a lot of users in Facebook’s database where one can add to their friend lists. You will have anyone on your friend list once they accept your friend requests.

  • There is an end to end encryption on communication between users.

How to get started on Facebook

Anyone can use Facebook once he or she is 13 years or above. Anyone younger than this age limit will have to try out other social media sites.

To get started, visit Facebook home page and signup. All you need for the registration is your name, email address or phone number, and birth date.

Once you register, add as many friends as possible to your friend lists. You can ask your friends to add you up with your Facebook name.
